You are – the next generation of conservation leaders!
The first Wildlife Leadership Academy field school Pennsylvania Bucktails was established in 2007.
Since then, we have grown to over 200+ students and four field schools. Academy Alumni have gone on to college and to have careers in everything from engineering to wildlife biology.
We hope as an Academy Alum you still hold close to you our mission for you to become leaders in conservation whether it is in your career or your day to day life or both – we are grateful that you are a part of our legacy – and are making a difference.
Academy Alumni are students who have participated in one or more of the Wildlife Leadership Academy field schools.
The Academy Alumni Network’s goal is to connect past and new students both professional and personally, with each other and career and networking opportunities.
What are the benefits to you as part of the Alumni Network?
CONNECTION – Through our new Facebook Group you can find out what your fellow alums are up to. Share photos about your latest connections with the outdoors or words of wisdom that help you continue to be a leader!
SUPPORT – In the Facebook Group – you can ask for help from having your resume reviewed to how to nail an interview. Let’s help each other make sure that you are successful in your chosen career path!
SERVICE – Take advantage of the opportunity to give back to the Academy by volunteering for summer field schools (you may even be ready to teach!), guiding new student’s as they begin their journey from high school to college, or joining an Academy field school Advisory Team.
The mission of the Wildlife Leadership Academy is to engage and empower high school age youth to become Conservation Ambassadors to ensure a sustained wildlife, fisheries and natural resource legacy for future generations. The Academy is a cooperative initiative involving state agencies and conservation organizations and is administered by the Pennsylvania Institute for Conservation Education, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
